“Adopt-A-Coral” Program
Would you like to contribute to the future of coral restoration in south east florida and beyond?
We are excited to make our “Adopt-A-Coral” program available to the public for the very first time in 2022 as we work to out-plant precious coral fragments on to our new Hollywood, Florida artificial reef site in Broward County!
“Coral Fragmentation” otherwise known as “Coral Fragging” is one of the most exciting breakthroughs in the field of coral restoration. Scientists have discovered that the process of “breaking” a piece of coral into tiny pieces of corals enables them to regrow up to 50 times faster than naturally in the wild. This process takes place in laboratories with various permitting process in place, which enables marine biologists to out-plant these “super corals” directly onto our artificial reefs creating new hope in our efforts to save the reefs, save the ocean, and save the planet.
We will provide the GPS coordinates of where these adopted corals will be out-planted so you can visit them and witness their growth and contributions to our eco-system!
